About The Position

The Electrical Certified Journeyman is responsible for managing electrical projects, including installation, repairs, and inspections of electrical systems within facilities. This role requires strong electrical and mechanical skills to maintain and troubleshoot various electrical equipment and systems, ensuring optimal performance and safety compliance.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or demonstrated equivalent.
  • Ten years or more of experience as a maintenance electrician in an industrial/commercial environment or equivalent education and experience.
  • Ability to work in an aerial lift or scissor lift at heights up to 30 feet or higher.
  • Working knowledge of the National Electric Code (NEC).
  • Math skills including arithmetic and application of formulas such as current and voltage.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with building automation systems.
  • Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
  • Ability to differentiate colors pertaining to wire color-coding.

Responsibilities

  • Manage electrical projects including installation, repairs, and inspections.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair electrical equipment and facility systems such as RTUs, doors, lighting, VFDs, and motor circuits.
  • Utilize the building automation system to track building conditions and equipment operation.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on industrial electrical control and operating systems as scheduled in the CMMS.
  • Recommend measures to improve maintenance methods and equipment performance.
  • Enforce safety regulations and company policies while performing job functions.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical equipment including personal fans, thermostats, and disconnects.
  • Troubleshoot electrical components such as PLCs, AC & DC drives, and relay logic.
  • Operate various measuring, diagnostic, and testing instruments for energy efficiency solutions.
  • Read and interpret mechanical and electrical schematics/prints, updating as necessary.
  • Demonstrate flexibility in scheduling and day-to-day activities to benefit the customer.
