About The Position

The EDP Systems Analyst (IT/Media Specialist) at North Shore Community College is responsible for providing comprehensive technical support for the college community, focusing on audio-visual systems, classroom technology, and event support. This role involves troubleshooting, installing, and maintaining AV equipment, as well as developing training programs and producing media content. The position requires collaboration with various departments to enhance teaching and learning experiences through effective use of technology.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Instructional Technology, AV Production, or related field, or two years of experience in AV production, live event tech support, and computer operating systems.
  • Demonstrated experience with customer service and technical support.
  • Experience with audio and visual components of event venues, both virtual and in person.
  • Demonstrated experience in photography, audio and video production, and related postproduction software (Photoshop, Final Cut Pro, Premiere).
  • Ability to complete video projects and experience in all aspects of production (pre-, pro-, post) and editing software.
  • Examples of media work (Photography, video).
  • Experience with streaming media and cloud platforms, and digital repositories of media assets.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of AV control system software, especially Global Viewer Enterprise (GVE), and AV control system hardware, especially Extron products.
  • Experience with AV installation, including appropriate mounting of projectors and audio systems.
  • Basic knowledge of desktop and networking concepts, including TCP/IP v4 & v6 and identity management systems.
  • Ability to manage installation projects, including planning, design, and vendor communication.
  • Ability to design, edit, and maintain database/inventory and generate reports.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer support for all college's audio and visual equipment, AV control systems, switchers, computers, network and classroom technology.
  • Configure, troubleshoot, and install audiovisual systems and peripheral equipment, including programming and upgrading A/V control systems.
  • Coordinate with vendors, Facilities, and other departments for successful installation and upgrade of A/V control and switching equipment.
  • Assist in basic troubleshooting of college technology networks and infrastructure.
  • Work with staff and faculty to develop instructional materials, media packages, and interactive video programs.
  • Assist in advising, planning, producing, and editing audio and video products consistent with the college's mission.
  • Provide video and/or photo documentation of college events.
  • Participate with the Director of Instructional Media and IS Management to identify and develop annual media-related goals and objectives.
  • Maintain inventory management and surplus controls by following departmental and college inventory procedures.
  • Install and deploy new/replacement computers and hardware peripherals.
  • Perform administrative tasks associated with department activities and recommend purchases of media software and equipment.
  • Responsible for reporting for data analytics related to media activities.
  • Work with faculty and staff to maximize and enhance teaching and learning experiences through technology.
  • Adhere to Information System's policies and procedures for media services and ensure data security policies are followed.
