In this entry-level position, you’ll support the safe, reliable operation of school buses and company vehicles while learning directly from experienced technicians. This is a great way to gain real-world shop experience, develop foundational skills, and explore a future in the transportation industry. Overview of Responsibilities Routine Vehicle Inspections Assist with daily inspections of school buses and other company vehicles. Observe and report any concerns or inconsistencies to senior technicians. Basic Repairs & Maintenance Support technicians with basic tasks such as oil changes, tire work, fluid checks, and brake inspections. Help complete scheduled maintenance under supervision. Documentation & Record Keeping Accurately record maintenance activities and inspection findings. Ensure all reports are submitted to the appropriate personnel. Tool & Equipment Care Clean and maintain shop tools and equipment. Notify senior technicians of any damaged or malfunctioning items. Safety & Compliance Follow all safety procedures and shop guidelines. Participate in required safety training and apply best practices in all tasks. Teamwork & Learning Work alongside senior technicians to learn proper techniques and industry standards. Collaborate with shop team members to support a productive and positive work environment. Professional Development Participate in training sessions to strengthen your technical skills. Stay curious and engaged with emerging technologies and industry trends.
