Domain Architect

The Senior Technical Architect for Open Banking will lead the technical vision, strategy, and design for a new Open Banking product. They will work closely with customers, product owners, and fellow architects to develop the high-level technical approach, guide engineering teams, and ensure production-readiness and compliance concerns are carefully considered. The role reports to the Chief Architect and is responsible for translating customer needs into technical designs, guiding product owners, and driving technical improvements across the organization. The ideal candidate has experience designing, launching, and operating enterprise-grade distributed systems, excellent communication skills, and a working understanding of Open Banking standards and compliance implications.

• Lead the technical vision, strategy, and design for a new Open Banking product
• Work closely with customers, Product Owners, and fellow architects to develop the high-level technical approach
• Guide Engineering Teams and ensure production-readiness and compliance concerns are carefully considered
• Conduct technical workshops, demonstrations, and develop technical documentation/training collateral
• Translate customer needs into a set of technical designs
• Work closely with Engineering Teams to convert technical designs into a meaningful set of roadmap items
• Guide Product Owners to help them be considerate of non-functional requirements when shaping their backlog
• Review operational metrics with the Ops team to ensure proper landing of the product
• Participate in the wider Backbase Architecture community and champion key improvements across the organization
• Drive at least one significant technical improvement across products
• Design, launch, and operate enterprise-grade, distributed systems
• Anticipate and negotiate new or changing requirements with customers
• Lead the charge on continual improvement of production-readiness
• Educate teams about tools and techniques to ensure that the product runs smoothly, securely, and in a way that offers insight into the systems’ health
• Have a working understanding of Open Banking standards and compliance implications
• Have experience with Identity & Authentication solutions and standards
• Have financial services domain experience
• Have experience running systems in production
• Have experience with Java/Spring/K8s/Docker or similar technologies.
