About The Position

As the Division Payroll Lead at Southland Industries, you will oversee the payroll process for both union and non-union employees across multiple states. This role involves utilizing various software systems, including Dayforce and COINS, to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing. You will also be responsible for training the payroll team and division employees, managing compliance with payroll regulations, and providing exceptional customer service to all stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field preferred; Associate's degree required.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of payroll experience, particularly with union payrolls.
  • Experience with Dayforce or similar payroll systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
  • Knowledge of federal and state wage and hour laws.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in benefits administration.
  • Familiarity with larger ERP/Accounting/Payroll software systems.
  • Proficiency in spreadsheet and word processing software.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate weekly pay cycles for union and non-union employees across multiple states.
  • Manage and maintain accurate employee records in collaboration with the corporate payroll group.
  • Oversee compliance and audit requirements related to project OCIP/CCIP and certified payroll programs.
  • Facilitate accurate time capture by working with managers to ensure timely submission of employee time.
  • Monitor employee vacation and PTO eligibility and generate balance tracking reports.
  • Process payroll adjustments, including manual checks and expense reports.
  • Support corporate and division finance in providing data for audits and compliance verifications.
  • Generate and distribute weekly and monthly payroll reports.
  • Develop and maintain written policies and procedures for payroll processes.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to employees and stakeholders.
