About The Position

The Distribution Supervisor for the 2nd Shift at Medtronic is responsible for overseeing shipping and receiving operations within a distribution center. This role involves managing both manual and clerical tasks, ensuring compliance with shipping practices, and utilizing computer systems for tracking and reporting. The supervisor will lead a team, ensuring efficient operations while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.

Requirements

• Understands basic management approaches such as work scheduling, prioritizing, coaching and process execution.
• Requires broad job knowledge of technical or operational practices within assigned discipline.
• Requires advanced knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience.
• Requires 1+ years of experience with a high school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Oversees a combination of manual and clerical shipping and receiving duties.
• Uses computer system for tracking, logging, verifying and reporting.
• Follows shipping practices and procedures, and transportation routing, schedules and requirements.
• Receives incoming materials or prepares materials for shipment.
• Unpacks or unwraps items such as finished products, raw stock, assemblies, parts, building materials, office supplies, equipment, etc.
• Verifies quantity, weight, and conformance of materials to stated identifications; logs receipt of items on system, processes freight bills, packing sheets, and other documents; reports materials shipped and bills of lading; posts weight and shipping charges and routes merchandise to destinations.
