About The Position

The Director of Operations at Legrand is responsible for the strategic planning and direction of manufacturing and supply-chain operations within the Data Center Power & Control Division. This role involves supporting a rapidly expanding business by ensuring that customer service and quality expectations are met while leading the development and implementation of operational strategies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field; MBA is strongly preferred.
  • 10-15 years of demonstrated success in operations with increasing responsibility.
  • Multi-site, global, and full supply chain leadership experience at a similar business.
  • Ability to manage all aspects of operations, including engineering, logistics, and procurement.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced organization with quick decision-making.
  • Knowledge of operation strategy and industry products.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with demonstrated team leadership.
  • Strong management skills, timely decision-making abilities, and effective delegation skills.
  • Exceptional business judgment, strategic planning, and analytic skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of a strategic direction for manufacturing, including long-range plans and annual operational goals.
  • Work with plant managers to develop and manage the annual operating plan/budget for manufacturing facilities.
  • Ensure efficient operation of metal fabrication cells and understand process changes' impacts on manufacturing.
  • Review operations reports and performance data to measure productivity and identify areas for improvement.
  • Continuously improve operations, decrease production costs, and streamline work processes.
  • Lead the deployment and optimization of Legrand's lean manufacturing system at applicable business sites.
  • Oversee health and safety teams to ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Develop and deploy optimal supply-chain strategies in conjunction with the Strategic Sourcing Organization.
  • Lead cross-functional Sales and Operations meetings to address key operational issues.
  • Provide leadership to advance manufacturing engineering, quality assurance, and plant management.
  • Act as a liaison on operations requirements to centralized functions such as marketing, engineering, and logistics.
  • Select, develop, and motivate staff to support product design and customer service functions.
