Director of Product, Platform

As the Director of Product leading the Platform Team at BetterUp, you will play a crucial role in building the core capabilities and infrastructure to bring personal growth and transformation to a wider audience. Your responsibilities will include guiding and influencing the organization to invest in long-term capabilities and growth levers, as well as stitching together the value story across a complex technical and product ecosystem. With deep technical expertise and a systems thinking approach, you will shape the platform strategy and roadmap, recruit top talent, and make high-value decisions to drive results. • Guide and influence the organization to invest in core capabilities and infrastructure for BetterUp's products
• Build message queues, API gateways, identity service, event-driven reporting, data catalogs, microservices, and feature stores
• Stitch together the value story across a complex technical and product ecosystem
• Zoom in to guide teams through critical problems and zoom out to guide the organization towards the long-term vision
• Manage, grow, and recruit world-class talent
• Shape the platform strategy and roadmap
• Quantify and frame investments and drive alignment across the organization
• Define, monitor, measure, analyze, and report on key metrics for the business
• Have 10+ years of experience in Product Management
• Have 5+ years of experience managing group and technical product managers
• Have experience in a technical/engineer role and comfortable discussing engineering systems in detail
• Have practical experience with data platforms, microservices, and infrastructure
• Have a proven track record of driving results via horizontal leadership
• Be a systems thinker with the ability to digest complex dynamics into simple options and path forward
• Be an inspiring people leader who can motivate and set a healthy pace for the team
• Have experience operating in a fast-paced startup environment

• Expertise in product management with at least 10+ years of experience
• Experience managing groups and technical product managers for at least 5+ years
• Technical/engineering background and comfortable discussing engineering systems in detail
• Practical experience with data platforms, microservices, and infrastructure
• Proven track record of driving results through horizontal leadership
• Ability to analyze complex dynamics and provide simple options and path forward
• Strong leadership skills to motivate and set a healthy pace for the team
• Experience operating in a fast-paced startup environment
