About The Position

The Director of Fitness (DOF) is the main salesperson for Personal Training programming. This role is not about teaching trainers how to work out, but rather about selling personal training services and ensuring a strong presence of personal training in the club. The DOF will work closely with the General Manager to onboard new members and promote personal training through customized software. This position requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a customer-focused mindset.

Responsibilities

• Work daily on filling the schedule for training sessions
• Match the trainer's availability and book sessions
• Render daily completed training sessions
• Submit weekly trainers' payroll
• Oversee and track bad debt and payment cancellations
• Conduct talent acquisition by calling personal trainer applicants to pre-screen for interviews
• Promote personal trainer bios for the company website
• Ensure staff participation in Personal Training
• Order uniforms for trainers and collect payments/order forms
• Collect Trainer monthly reviews on conduct and file write-ups
• Collect Monthly employee performance reviews
• Make daily New Member Calls and Emails using club PT Email
• Follow-up with members who did not book consultation appointments
• Confirm all client weekly training appointments with trainers
• Interview new trainers along with the general manager
• Work with front desk staff to achieve a 70% appointment set rate each month
• Monitor closing percentages and sales to ensure department goals are met
• Ensure all PT Departments are scheduled sufficiently to meet demand
• Learn all aspects of reporting related to Personal Trainers
• Provide accurate Trainer payroll to the GM every Monday
• Interact with members to ensure satisfaction with team and programs
• Assist with program marketing and producing trainer biographies
• Conduct club walk-throughs checking on equipment and facility conditions
• Tour guests and sell general gym memberships during downtime
