Director of Engineering, Consumer Web

The Director of Engineering, Consumer Web at Realtor.com will be responsible for leading the Engineering groups that support the Consumer Web Products. This role will focus on evolving technology systems, tools, and procedures to solve consumer pain points and deliver new products and experiences. The Director will set the technical strategy, guide teams to deliver improvements to the technology stack, and drive engineering excellence and governance. Strong leadership skills, experience managing engineering teams, and a strong software engineering instinct are required for this role.

• Set the vision for the next generation of technology to support Consumer Web products
• Plan goals and milestones to achieve the vision
• Guide teams to deliver improvements to the technology stack
• Improve productivity for engineers by onboarding quickly and developing solutions iteratively
• Set the strategy and be accountable for the day-to-day operations of all Consumer Web activities
• Drive engineering excellence and governance through training, documentation, process, and tooling
• Construct and maintain an environment of integrity, trust, high quality, and continuous improvement
• Motivate teams and rally them around delivering organizational initiatives
• Hire and motivate high-performing engineering teams
• Coach and mentor engineering managers to improve their skills and careers
• Manage engineering teams that shipped web applications for 8-10+ years
• Manage managers for 5+ years
• Possess strong software engineering instinct
