About The Position

The Director of Communications at NYC Health + Hospitals is responsible for executing a comprehensive communications strategy that aligns with the organization's mission, values, and business goals. This role involves developing engaging content for various internal and external communications channels, overseeing production schedules, and collaborating with clinical and executive leaders. The Director will also measure the effectiveness of communications efforts, support special events, and ensure consistent branding across all platforms.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Journalism, Communications, or a related discipline.
  • Four years of experience executing communications strategies, with three years in a managerial or supervisory capacity.
  • Satisfactory equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.

Responsibilities

  • Execute a comprehensive communications strategy to publicize the organization's work.
  • Identify, develop, and write relevant content for internal communications channels.
  • Develop content for various channels including web copy, newsletters, brochures, and marketing collateral.
  • Oversee and advise on the production of high-level communications plans.
  • Propose and write engaging content on health topics for the public website and social media.
  • Partner with internal clients to understand their communications needs and provide strategic guidance.
  • Continuously measure and evaluate the effectiveness of communications efforts.
  • Collaborate with system leadership to identify areas of improvement in communications strategies.
  • Support special events and press conferences as needed.
  • Perform other related duties as directed.
