Director, Investor Relations for Impact-First Investments

Social FinanceBoston, MA
147d$140,000

About The Position

Social Finance seeks a strategic and entrepreneurial Director to lead capital raising and investor relations for its impact-first investment initiatives. Reporting to the Chief Philanthropy Officer and working closely with the Vice President of Impact-First Investments and the Impact-First Investing team, the Director will serve as the central relationship manager for existing investors and advance an ambitious $250M fundraising strategy for the Social Finance Impact First Fund. A top priority will be driving capital commitments to the Impact First Fund, Social Finance’s flagship impact investing vehicle. The Director will play a critical role in positioning the Fund at the intersection of philanthropy and impact investments, increasing awareness and understanding of the field and fund, identifying and cultivating prospective investors, and converting interest into meaningful commitments. The ideal candidate will bring a proven track record of fundraising from ultra-high-net-worth individuals (UHNWIs), family offices, foundations, and other mission-aligned institutions, financial fluency, and a shared passion for building the field of impact-first investing. As a senior member of the Partnerships and Philanthropy team, the Director will collaborate cross-functionally with teams across the firm—including Impact First Investing, Legal, Finance, and Communications—to ensure excellence in investor experience, reporting, and fund positioning. This is a high-visibility role for a seasoned fundraiser with a proactive mindset, strong execution skills, and demonstrated success identifying and closing six and seven-figure investments in a fast-paced, outcomes-oriented environment.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated success identifying, cultivating and managing relationships with sophisticated investors, such as UHNWIs, family offices, DAF platforms, and foundations
  • Proven track record of soliciting and closing seven-figure commitments
  • Proven experience in people management, including mentoring and fostering the professional growth of direct reports through regular feedback, coaching, and development opportunities
  • Strong financial and investment fluency, with the ability to synthesize and communicate complex concepts and fund structures clearly and compellingly
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a talent for developing investor-facing materials and facilitating high-level engagements
  • Experience managing and leveraging CRM systems to inform strategy and deepen and expand relationships
  • Highly collaborative and proactive; comfortable operating with independence, driving initiatives forward, and navigating ambiguity
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a commitment to applying business models to social problems through innovative capital deployment
