About The Position

Trident Seafoods is the largest vertically integrated seafood harvesting and processing company in North America. Trident is a privately held, 100 percent USA-owned company with primary seafood processing operations and fleet support in twelve Alaska communities. Species harvested and processed by Trident include virtually every commercial species of salmon, whitefish, and crab harvested in the North Pacific and Alaska. The global supply chain also includes cultured and wild species from a network of trusted sources worldwide. The Dining Hall Foreperson assists the Head Cook in coordination of food preparation and helps cook buffet style meals for employees, crew, and customers. Note: Effective 1 December 2024, Dining Hall Foreperson II residing in Trident housing will be subject to a co-pay of $15 per day for room and board, for each day that at least 8 hours of work is offered.

Requirements

  • Must be a current Trident Seafoods employee or have worked for Trident Seafoods before.
  • Has worked in a Foreperson I position in a Trident location in the past year.
  • Food Handler's card; required within 30 days of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Previous experience in the food service industry preferred.
  • HS Diploma or equivalent (or degree, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for food preparation and mess hall staff.
  • Demonstrate the ability to be flexible and to learn the different roles in the galley under the supervision of the Cook (Head Cook).
  • Food prep, cleaning, dishwashing, baking, restocking, inventory counts.
  • Perform routine deep cleaning of cooking area.
  • Wash dishes and cookware, clean tables and floors, empty trash.
  • Maintain a clean working environment.
  • Perform other similar or related duties as requested or assigned.
  • Acquire knowledge of Trident's Environmental and Safety Policies by completing required training programs and performing designated work activities in accordance with training and procedures/work instructions.
  • Notify designated personnel of any environmental and safety incidents, or risks not previously documented, in accordance with Environmental Awareness and or Safety training.
