About The Position

As the Digital Buyer, you and your team will be responsible for setting the current and future digital merchandise strategy, driving digital sales and margin through merchant initiatives, determining assortment selection, creating pricing strategy, and identifying promotional opportunities. In addition, you will collaborate with a broad set of internal and vendor partners to create impactful content online, identify and unlock new digital capabilities and remove friction in the shopping experience to maximize growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Merchandising Management, Marketing, Business Management, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in retail omni-channel buying/planning, site merchandising or ecommerce functions
  • 3+ years vendor negotiation experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Drive digital sales through prioritizing merchant initiatives by creating optimized product assortments, securing robust product content, & collaborating on customer solutions
  • Report on site KPIs, customer experience metrics-optimizing site operations, identifying opportunities, to achieve sales growth
  • Identify industry trends and develop innovative marketing and merchandising initiatives to support growth
  • Help identify and leverage new digital capabilities to drive sales and collaborate cross functionally to develop implementation plans
  • Manage milestones and deadlines for multiple simultaneous projects, while keeping key stakeholders up to date with progress and decisions
  • Collaborate on joint business planning negotiations with large CPG vendors and represent PetSmart digital perspective when meeting with senior leaders
  • Identify and negotiate promotional opportunities for vendors/products and collaborate with marketing to create comprehensive proposals
  • Develop core reporting and routines in collaboration with Cross-Site team to enhance digital acumen of the total Merchandising and MP&A teams
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business needs, including Marketing, IT, Cross-Site, Pricing, to ensure processes are in place for flawless execution
  • Secure and prioritize assets to support creation of impactful landing pages for categories, brands, and customer facing solutions in partnership with site merchandising team
