Worth, Texas, CareerPhysician, a national leader in child health faculty and leadership recruitment, is pleased to announce a national search for a Developmental Behavioral Pediatrician to join the Jane and John Justin Institute for Mind Health, Department of Developmental Pediatrics. The Jane and John Justin Institute for Mind Health was created to provide a single point of care for children with disorders of the nervous system. The Institute's vision is to uphold the Promise of Cook Children's by providing easily accessible, well-coordinated and comprehensive evaluation and treatment - guided by innovation, research, and a relentless dedication to improving patient outcomes and quality of life. The Institute opened in October 2023 with >100,000 sq feet of clinical space and houses the departments of neurology, neurosurgery, neuropsychology, psychology, psychiatry, developmental & neurodevelopmental pediatrics, developmental psychology, pain medicine, and physical medicine and rehabilitation. CCHCS is a not-for-profit, nationally recognized pediatric health care organization comprised of a Medical Center, Physician Network, Home Health company, Pediatric Surgery Center, Health Plan and Health Foundation. Cook Children's Medical Center is a freestanding 462-bed quaternary care pediatric hospital that is consistently ranked by US News and World Report. The integrated system has more than 60 primary and specialty care offices throughout North and West Texas, serving a 23-county referral network.

Requirements

  • Board Certified in Pediatrics
  • Interest in Developmental Behavioral Pediatrics

Responsibilities

  • Join a thriving Developmental-Behavioral practice supported through collaboration with 7 physicians dedicated to DBP & NDD, 21 child neurologists, 4 neurosurgeons, 6 neuropsychologists, psychiatrists, pain medicine specialists, physiatrists, and psychologists.
  • Participate in the fellow's retention program providing a monthly stipend of $2,500 from the time a contract is signed through the start of practice with Cook Children's.
  • Engage in strong interdisciplinary collaboration and support from related specialties within the Mind Institute.
  • Provide medical oversight of special education and Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) at the Cook Child Study Center.
  • Contribute to clinical research and teaching, while not required, are encouraged in areas of interest.
