About the position
This job is for a Design Manager who will be responsible for leading and growing a team of product designers. The role involves collaborating with other leads to establish high-level design strategies, managing team performance and project prioritization, and ensuring a culture of design excellence. The Design Manager will also be involved in the user experience of products from conception to launch, contribute to strategic decisions, and improve the standard for quality. Effective communication and the ability to connect related projects across the company are also important aspects of this role.
Responsibilities
- Establish high-level strategy for the design function in collaboration with other leads
- Build and manage a talented team of product designers
- Ensure consistent delivery of projects by the design team
- Mentor other designers and contribute to their growth
- Oversee the user experience of a product from conception to launch
- Contribute to strategic decisions for Fishery products
- Improve the standard for quality and provide feedback to raise the bar

- Strong design leadership skills and ability to navigate ambiguity
- Experience in scaling up teams of collaborating designers

- Strong track record in design, specifically in interaction design and product research

- 6+ years of experience in Product Design
- 2+ years of design leadership experience with direct reports under your guidance and leadership
- 3+ years of experience working collaboratively with product, engineering, design, content and user research teams
