About The Position

The Principal Network Communications position at Northrop Grumman involves serving as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in network communications, ensuring the smooth operation of information system hardware and software. Requirements

  • High School diploma with a minimum of 9 years of relevant experience; or an Associates Degree with 7 years of experience; or a Bachelor's degree with 5 years of experience; or a Master's degree with 3 years of experience; or a PhD with zero years of experience.
  • Must have or obtain Security Plus (Sec+) Certification within 6 months of hire.
  • Ability to complete initial qualification training within 365 days from program access and show continuous progress throughout the training program.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include extended shifts, holidays, and weekends, and support on-call status 24/7.
  • Ability to meet medical requirements for worldwide travel.
  • Must have and maintain a valid U.S. passport.
  • Accept customer furnished quarters for up to 90 days away from primary work location and comply with mobility requirements, including required immunizations and vaccinations.
  • Current DoD Top Secret security clearance and ability to maintain that clearance.
  • Ability to obtain and retain Special Program access clearance within 365 days from submission.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, evaluate, and coordinate installation and/or reconfiguration of hardware and software elements of integrated information systems.
  • Maintain technical expertise in information systems hardware/software, radio frequency, and SATCOM communications systems.
  • Propose solutions to management to meet communications requirements and optimize cost savings.
  • Prepare and ensure appropriate network documentation exists, including maintenance documentation and instructions.
  • Monitor and analyze short- and long-range planning for in-house systems.
  • Ensure secure movement of information across a multi-classification computing environment.
  • Coordinate third-party maintenance for equipment as needed.
  • Support integration and provide engineering feedback on system upgrades and modifications.
  • Design systems or portions of systems, including selection of hardware and software packages.
