Demand Planning Manager, Groceries

Careem is seeking a candidate to join their team as a Demand Planning Manager for their Careem Grocery vertical. The role involves utilizing historical sales data, market trends, and customer insights to develop accurate demand forecasts for their quick commerce groceries business. The candidate will also be responsible for managing and mitigating demand volatility, leading the sales and operations planning process, and collaborating with internal stakeholders to gather input and align on demand forecasts. Additionally, the role includes analyzing sales data, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing enhancements to optimize forecasting accuracy and supply chain efficiency.

• Utilize historical sales data, market trends, and customer insights to develop accurate demand forecasts for the quick commerce groceries business.
• Develop strategies to manage and mitigate demand volatility, considering factors such as seasonality, promotions, and external market influences.
• Lead the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process, aligning demand and supply plans, identifying gaps, and developing action plans to meet business objectives.
• Prepare and present demand planning reports, including key performance indicators (KPIs), to senior management and stakeholders. Communicate forecast updates, insights, and recommendations to internal teams.
• Plan and manage inventory levels to meet customer demand while minimizing costs and stockouts. Collaborate with suppliers and logistics teams to optimize inventory replenishment processes.
• Engage with internal stakeholders, such as sales, marketing, and product teams, to gather input and align on demand forecasts.
• Analyze sales data, market trends, and other relevant factors to identify patterns and drivers of demand. Utilize statistical models and forecasting tools to generate accurate demand projections.
• Monitor demand planning processes, identify areas for improvement, and implement enhancements to optimize forecasting accuracy, inventory turnover, and supply chain efficiency.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, logistics, and operations, to ensure effective execution of demand plans. Provide input and support for new product launches, promotions, and supply chain initiatives.
• Leverage advanced demand planning tools and statistical forecasting software to enhance forecasting accuracy and automate processes where applicable.

• Experience in demand forecasting and variability management
• Knowledge of sales and operations planning (S&OP) process
• Ability to prepare and present demand planning reports to senior management
