About The Position

Cognizant is seeking a Senior Software Developer with expertise in Delphi XE7 to join their team in Atlanta, GA. This role involves designing and implementing production-ready code for cloud-based software solutions, troubleshooting production issues, and collaborating with a diverse team to enhance product features. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in object-oriented programming and a commitment to agile methodologies, contributing to the continuous improvement of software development processes.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in an object-oriented language.
• Strong experience in Delphi and Delphi XE7.
• Experience in Microsoft SQL Server operations/usage; management would be a plus.
• Significant experience working in a large software product throughout its lifecycle - from conception into release and into support.
• Clear understanding of core object-oriented development principles.
• Demonstrated troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
• Experience with source control tools (TFS, GitHub, SVN, etc.).
• Ability to train/mentor others - through code reviews, ad-hoc presentations, or more formal procedures.
• Familiarity with standard Windows operations, including software installation, basic device setup, basic troubleshooting.
• Good understanding of Agile Methodologies and SCRUM.

Nice To Haves

• Win32 development experience.
• Crystal Reports experience.
• Experience in credit-card/payments development/issues.
• Web Services/API development.
• Experience with virtual machines.

Responsibilities

• Technical design and implementation of production ready code, partnering closely with the rest of the team (Engineers, QA, Solution Manager).
• Troubleshoot, resolve and research production issues as well as work with development to make enhancements and fix bugs.
• Work closely within the team to define feature priorities, deliveries, and product schedules.
• Integrate POS with payment hardware and configuration.
• Stay up to date with new technologies and industry trends.
• Participate in requirements gathering and documentation.
• Lead the non-functional aspects of the solution which includes security and performance.
• Dedicated to the agile mindset and work in a fast-paced scrum environment.
• Consistently deliver quality shippable software to our customers, being part of our Agile development team.
• Produce technical documentation as needed.
• Foster a culture of knowledge building across the team.
