Data Security Engineer

The job overview for this role is to collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications. The candidate will utilize their engineering skills to design, develop, and implement automated security controls. They will also conduct Proof of Concepts (PoCs) and Build vs Buy analysis of security tools, providing clear guidelines and best practices on data security matters. The role requires proven experience in designing and implementing security controls in cloud environments, proficiency in coding languages, familiarity with data encryption concepts, and a strong inclination towards data-driven decision-making. Previous experience in roles related to data protection is preferred. The role is remote.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.

• Conduct Proof of Concepts (PoCs) and Build vs Buy analysis of security tools, evaluating their effectiveness and suitability for Nubank's specific needs.
• Provide clear guidelines and best practices on data security matters to enable Nubankers team members to perform their work efficiently while reducing the risk of data leaks.
• Design and implement security controls in cloud environments.
• Proficiency in coding languages such as Python, Go, Java, etc.
• Familiarity with fundamental concepts of data encryption in-transit and at-rest.
• Strong inclination towards data-driven decision-making.
• Previous experience in roles related to data protection.
