About The Position

The Data Scientist at Cardinal Health's AI Center of Excellence (AI CoE) will lead the development of innovative AI solutions aimed at improving patient outcomes and enhancing healthcare operations. This role involves designing, implementing, and scaling sophisticated AI technologies, mentoring a team of data scientists, and shaping the AI strategy in alignment with business objectives.

Requirements

  • 4-8 years of experience in data science, with a strong track record in AI/ML solutions.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in developing and deploying complex AI/ML solutions.
  • Deep understanding of Generative AI concepts, including LLMs and RAG technologies.
  • Extensive knowledge of healthcare data and understanding of HIPAA regulations.
  • Experience with cloud platforms like GCP, Azure, or AWS for data processing and model deployment.
  • Proven ability to lead projects and mentor colleagues, with strong communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Python, statistical programming languages, and machine learning libraries.
  • Experience in building and implementing CI/CD pipelines for ML models.
  • Familiarity with RESTful API design and implementation.
  • Working understanding of software engineering best practices and solutions architecture.
  • Experience in building end-to-end ML pipelines and Agile methodologies.
  • Familiarity with DevSecOps principles.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with data engineering tools and techniques.
  • Knowledge of security architecture related to ML/GenAI implementations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of innovative AI solutions addressing key business challenges in healthcare.
  • Develop advanced machine learning models for forecasting, classification, and risk prediction.
  • Explore and leverage Generative AI technologies for applications like summarization and classification.
  • Build robust Retrieval Augmented Generation systems to integrate LLMs with healthcare data.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to translate needs into actionable AI-driven solutions.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to a geographically distributed team of data scientists.
  • Foster a culture of data-driven decision-making and promote the use of AI insights.
