Data Engineering Manager

Pure Storage is seeking a Manager of Data and Analytics in Prague to lead a team of data engineers in delivering master data solutions to optimize business operations and processes. The ideal candidate should have at least 9 years of experience in software development, a deep understanding of data engineering concepts and best practices, and experience managing large-scale data engineering projects. They should also be able to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, collaborate effectively with other teams, and think strategically about how data can be leveraged to drive business outcomes.

• Establish data as a service, enabling efficient, integrated, end-to-end management & delivery of high-quality data assets across the value chain
• Collaborate closely with subject matter experts to analyze and interpret data and KPIs; conduct deep dives to identify bottlenecks and growth triggers
• Assess inefficiencies and existing processes to identify improvement opportunities
• Recruit, develop, and lead a high performing team of leaders and individual contributors, mentoring and coaching team members to develop their skill
• Managing and leading a team of data engineers, providing guidance and support to ensure their success
• Working closely with the Product Management, Cross functional and internal team leaders to shape the overall data and analytics vision, as well as capability roadmaps for knowledge domains covered by the organization
• Evaluating and selecting appropriate data technologies and tools to support the organization's data infrastructure
• Developing and implementing data governance policies to ensure data quality, security, and compliance.

• 9+ years of experience in software development
• Deep understanding of data engineering concepts, technologies, and best practices
• Experience with data storage solutions, data processing frameworks, data integration tools, data warehousing, data modeling, and data governance
• Effective leader who can inspire and motivate a team of data engineers
• Experience managing large-scale data engineering projects
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Collaboration skills with other teams, such as data scientists and business analysts
