About The Position

Leidos currently has an opening on the ‘Service Management, Integration and Transport' (SMIT) Contract for a Data Center Facilities Technician Mid located at Camp Butler, Japan. This is an exciting opportunity to use your experience and leadership skills to successfully execute the mission of the Navy's largest IT services program: SMIT. Under the SMIT Contract, the Leidos team will deliver the core backbone of the Navy-Marine Corps Intranet, including cybersecurity services, network operations, network engineering, service desk, and data transport. Ultimately, Leidos will support the Navy in unifying its shore-based networks and data management to improve capability and service while also saving significant dollars by focusing efforts under one enterprise network. This position requires the individual to perform facility, infrastructure, systems, and applications support for IT production environments.

Requirements

  • High school diploma with at least 4 years of experience as described in the Primary Responsibilities area.
  • US Citizen with an active DoD Secret clearance.
  • Must possess an Information Assurance Technician (IAT) Level II certification.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Data Center Cleaning personnel per American Society of Heating, Refrigeration, and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) 127.

Responsibilities

  • Perform facilities-related work in applicable base-level Facilities Management requirements, including Local Area Network (LAN) cabling, infrastructure requirements, local and state coding requirements, component identification marking systems, and equipment racks and rack layout.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with government facility management personnel regarding Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC), power, Uninterruptable Power System (UPS), IT security systems, fire suppression system, and environmental issues related to the data center or network communications equipment spaces.
  • Support functional requirements' assessments, technical review and planning/scheduling actions and activities.
  • Assist in forecasting services, material, manning, and financial resource requirements.
  • Provide aggregate and granular reporting through estimates, realized, baselined, established thresholds.
  • Continually measure service and application resource capacity requirements and consumption.
  • Perform activities for set up, configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting of dedicated IT-specific facility components to include power, cooling, rack and cable support.
  • Perform infrastructure and supporting services, including facility planning, management and operations, and heating/cooling and power.
  • Perform facilities impact analysis by generating and analyzing performance reports for the facilities infrastructure components including power usage and costs and recommend improvements.
  • Analyze maintenance specific facility layouts to track the location and configuration of components.
  • Perform facility infrastructure preventive maintenance and corrective maintenance.
  • Maintain, inspect, certify, and test infrastructure components in accordance with all associated regulations and to Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) standards.
  • Perform data center cleaning in accordance with American Society of Heating, Refrigeration, and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) 127 and International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 16466 guidelines to clean room Class 8 standards.
