About The Position

The Customer Service Representative in the PFS/Revenue Cycle at Sharp Healthcare is responsible for providing exceptional service to patients and providers through various communication channels, including phone calls, live chat, and in-person interactions. This role is crucial in addressing billing inquiries, ensuring patient satisfaction, and maintaining the organization's commitment to its mission and values. The representative will work in a fast-paced environment, aiming to meet departmental service levels and performance standards while contributing to the overall efficiency of the revenue cycle.

Requirements

  • 2 Years Experience in customer service, medical billing, patient services, member services, patient accounting or claims processing.
  • CRCR certification is required within 1 year of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • H.S. Diploma or Equivalent
  • 1 Year Experience with Automated Call Distribution (ACD) system in a call center environment.
  • Certified Revenue Cycle Representative (CRCR) - HFMA - PREFERRED
  • Certified Specialist Managed Care (CSMC) - Healthcare Financial Management Association - PREFERRED.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, resolve, and respond to incoming and generate outbound calls, live chat, and walk-in patients.
  • Address all patient and provider billing questions, concerns, and inquiries promptly and professionally.
  • Achieve an overall departmental service level of 80% or greater by answering calls within 60 seconds.
  • Conduct monthly outbound surveys to gather patient feedback, aiming for an average score of 80% or higher.
  • Meet cash collection goals for both CCD and ICD divisions.
  • Handle patient inquiries in a manner consistent with department guidelines, maintaining an average handle time of 8:31 minutes or less.
  • Demonstrate exemplary customer service and follow HIPAA requirements during call handling.
  • Negotiate payment plans and patient discounts to reduce accounts receivable days.
  • Verify eligibility and benefits for commercial and government plans, ensuring accurate billing and claims submission.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to resolve billing questions and concerns.
