About The Position

The Superintendent for Custom Homes is responsible for overseeing all aspects of luxury residential construction projects in the Bay Area. This role ensures that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards, requiring hands-on leadership and extensive experience in residential construction. Fluency in Spanish is essential for effective communication with diverse teams and subcontractors.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; equivalent carpentry or framing experience in residential construction.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in residential construction.
  • Fluent in formal business Spanish and business English.
  • Strong understanding of residential construction techniques, materials, and building codes.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, plans, and specifications.
  • Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Proficient with project management software and tools (e.g., Structur.io, Contractor Foreman, Procore).

  • ADU and building code knowledge.
  • Written Spanish proficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily on-site construction activities for custom residential projects.
  • Ensure projects adhere to blueprints, specifications, and building codes.
  • Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, vendors, and laborers.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules to meet deadlines.
  • Plan daily and weekly construction tasks, ensuring efficient workflow.
  • Monitor progress and adjust schedules as necessary.
  • Ensure the highest standards of craftsmanship and quality.
  • Perform inspections at key project milestones to confirm compliance.
  • Address and resolve any construction defects or issues promptly.
  • Monitor project budgets and control costs.
  • Approve subcontractor and vendor invoices in line with contractual agreements.
  • Proactively identify potential cost overruns and address them with management.
  • Serve as the primary on-site point of contact for clients, architects, and designers.
  • Conduct regular progress meetings with stakeholders and report updates.
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with the project management team.
  • Facilitate communication with Spanish-speaking subcontractors and workers to ensure understanding and alignment.
  • Enforce site safety protocols and OSHA regulations.
  • Ensure proper permits and inspections are obtained and passed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized job site.
