About The Position

The Crew Lead oversees the production and safety of a group of employees, including roles such as Welder, Welder's Helper, Crane Operator, and Swamper. This position is responsible for ensuring that the crew follows safety protocols and completes tasks efficiently while maintaining high standards of quality and compliance with company policies.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and write in English.
  • Ability to comprehend and communicate instructions in English.
  • Ability to communicate with employees and business partners professionally.
  • Knowledge of Lock Out/Tag Out process.
  • Knowledge of technology (iPads, cellphones, etc.).
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Products.
  • Ability to complete tasks like Evacuating, Trenching, Line Finding, Dig Alerts, and Energy Control.
  • Knowledge of Stop Work Authority (SWA).
  • Ability to complete training for Behavioral Safety Process.
  • Ability to read a tape measure.
  • Ability to recognize and use hand and power tools including pipe benders.
  • Ability to demonstrate basic construction safety rules.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces for long periods.
  • Knowledge of pipe sizes and fitting as well as thickness of material required.
  • 1-2 years of industry experience along with knowledge of tools.

Responsibilities

  • Regular and reliable attendance.
  • Prepared and on time for scheduled shift with proper PPE.
  • Responsible for Daily Shift validations.
  • Possess a current and valid Driver License with a clean driving record.
  • Perform and fill out Pre-Trip vehicle inspection before leaving the yard.
  • Gather appropriate job permits from all crew members for each scheduled job.
  • Follow and complete the Detailed Daily Work Plan (DDWP) and ensure crew participation.
  • Ensure the crew has the appropriate equipment, tools, and supplies to complete the assigned task.
  • Perform monthly tool audit of all crew members and ensure compliance of equipment.
  • Detect welding issues ahead of time to guide crew on corrections.
  • Complete specific KSI PLW Training, Site Specific Training, and Lifeguard Training.
  • Perform Testing on sites for immediate respiratory dangers.
  • Understand and know the procedures to bolt-up and torquing in the field.
  • Be aware of dangers associated with hazardous atmospheres and tools.
  • Coach and mentor fellow crew members and involve in the Behavioral Safety Process.
  • Develop a general knowledge of KSI PPM-SOPs and refer to the SOP Manual.
  • Follow all KS Industries, LP safety, and customer policies and procedures.
  • Perform all physical and mental requirements listed.
