About the position
The job overview for the position of Vice President - Credit Fund Controller in the Finance - Fund Accounting team at Pretium is to oversee the execution of Pretium's shadow process over investor allocations, expense allocation, and financial reporting. The role involves maintaining the integrity of accounting data, performing reconciliations, processing investor capital transactions, assisting in the annual audit process, and producing reports for investors and regulatory purposes. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience, with a preference for candidates with hedge fund and/or private equity auditing experience. Credit experience and attention to detail are also desirable qualities for this role.
Responsibilities
- Review quarterly financial package for each fund provided by third-party administrator
- Assist in calculation and approval of direct and allocated expenses/accruals
- Maintain and manage in-house investor allocations
- Maintain and manage data within internal systems/files and provide reliable information to other groups within the organization
- Perform monthly/quarterly reconciliations between internal allocations and administrators
- Process and record investor capital transactions
- Review investor notices related to capital transactions
- Review and process wires related to investor distributions/redemptions
- Assist in the annual audit process
- Review financial statement schedules prepared by administrators
- Assist in coordination of processing financial statement comments or requests from auditors
- Produce reports/information in response to requests from investors
- Assist Business Development team in preparing DDQ responses and other analyses
- Aggregate information required for regulatory reporting for Legal and Compliance departments
Requirements
- CPA preferred, but not required
- Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience
- Public candidates: Big 4, w/ hedge fund and/or private equity auditing experience preferred
- Private candidates: industry or combo of public and industry, in accounting function
- Credit experience, including exposure to bank loans and structured credit products, is a plus
- Detail Focused: Great attention to accuracy of numbers in financial reports
- Very comfortable and adept at spreadsheet-based analysis and numbers-based problem solving
- Always striving for the most accurate and reliable information

- Annual base salary range for this role is expected to be between $140,000 - $160,000
