About the position
Semafor is seeking a proactive and strategic individual to join their advertising and brand partnerships team. The role involves developing innovative proposals using Semafor's portfolio of premium journalism to help clients achieve their marketing goals. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating compelling narratives and visual presentations, demonstrating the connection between a client's brand challenge and proposed partnership solutions. They will also be involved in designing and developing a new 'Brand reputation' practice and working on multiple deliverables across various industries.
Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and continually refine Semafor's pre-sale process and go-to-market strategy
- Coordinate kick-off and brainstorm meetings, manage information from various teams, maintain timelines, and hit deadlines
- Lead brainstorms with client partnerships leads, agencies, and clients to clarify asks, gather critical intel, and craft winning proposals
- Utilize research and data to articulate and support strategies and creative ideas
- Design and create engaging presentations that clearly and concisely communicate ideas/concepts that map back to key advertiser objectives and KPIs
- Partner with sales leadership on in-person pitches and presentations with agencies and clients
- Identify and create core sales materials/collateral for sponsorable franchises, tentpole events, case studies, etc. to ensure the client partnerships team is armed with an arsenal of market-ready materials
- Coordinate with sales leads and post-sales teams, ensuring consistency in pre-to post-sale transition
- Ideate, collaborate, and project manage offerings across relevant departments to create integrated programs for clients
- Research, Insights, and Creative Brief Development: Uncover meaningful insights, human truths, and whitespace opportunities through proprietary tools, third-party resources, and desk research
- Creative Briefing: Participate in writing a creative brief, briefing creative teams, and being an inspiring strategic partner to creative teams
- Media Strategy: Respond to client RFPs and make recommendations for how to use media to bring ideas to life in ways that meet clients' campaign objectives
- Client Deliverable/Proposal Development: Experienced in developing client deliverables and proposals
Requirements
- Highly proactive, creative, and strategic mindset
- Experience in advertising and brand partnerships
- Ability to develop insightful and innovative proposals
- Familiarity with Semafor's portfolio of premium journalism (digital, email, video, events, etc.)
- Strong understanding of the media landscape, including new and emerging platforms
- Ability to design and develop a new 'Brand reputation' practice
- Experience working on multiple deliverables across various industry verticals
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Proficiency in research and data analysis
- Excellent presentation and communication skills
- Ability to collaborate and project manage across departments
- Familiarity with creative briefing and media strategy
- Experience in client deliverable and proposal development
