About the position
The Senior Finance Business Partner is responsible for overseeing the financial management of programs and backoffice matters in the GiveDirectly country office. They will deliver accurate financial reports, track financial operations, and provide updates on financial performance and risks to the country leadership team. This role involves assessing finance controls, proposing improvements, and ensuring compliance with regulations and organizational policies. The Senior Finance Business Partner will also collaborate with various teams, maintain stakeholder relationships, and contribute to budgeting and cost reduction efforts.
Responsibilities
- Deliver accurate and insightful financial information to the management team
- Understand and analyze raw finance data at both granular and strategic levels
- Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders
- Maintain strong relationships with regulatory bodies and financial service providers
- Work closely with the accounting team to deliver accurate and timely financial reports
- Ensure compliance with donor requirements, regulations, and organizational policies
- Implement payment and procurement protocols and ensure proper documentation and controls
- Monitor and mitigate financial and compliance risks
- Manage in-country audits and special reporting to donors and regulatory bodies
- Track project spending and prepare financial reports for submission to donors
- Implement and track risk and controls dashboard
- Ensure compliance with finance policies and procedures
- Support investigation of financial fraud and escalate irregularities to the Country Director
- Contribute to drafting and updating finance-related policies
- Implement and manage the Finance Service Level Agreement
- Prepare country and donor budgets
- Deliver Budget-to-Actual reports to stakeholders
- Collaborate with HR Manager in preparing payroll
- Suggest cost reduction and streamlining ideas for the country office.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or equivalent practical experience
- 7+ years of professional experience in accounting or finance, with strong experience in budgeting and reporting
