About The Position

Under the general direction of the Supervising Cook I, the Correctional Supervising Cook supervises and directs Cook Staff in the preparation and service of food for the inmate population. Responsible to receive, store, rotate, prepare and rethermalization of food. Responsible to ensure proper quantity, quality and acceptable appearance of food items. Coordinates Food Service activities with other Correctional Supervising Cooks.

Requirements

  • One year of experience in the California state service performing the duties of a Cook Specialist II (Correctional Facility) or a Cook Specialist II.
  • Two years of experience in a supervisory capacity over cooks and other food service workers with responsibility for preparation, cooking, and serving of various food items.
  • Education equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade.
