About The Position

The Coordinator, Music Licensing at Sony Pictures Entertainment plays a crucial role in supporting the Music Licensing team within the Music Affairs department. This position involves managing music and audio needs for various television productions, trailers, and marketing efforts. The coordinator will provide administrative support to the SVP of Music Licensing and ensure that all licensing deals are accurately tracked, logged, and processed.

Requirements

• BA/BS/MA in film, TV, music, business, communications, or a related field.
• 1-3 years of experience in Music Licensing at a production company, television studio, trailer house, record label, or similar.
• Knowledge of music licensing, song research, synchronization, and recording use rights.
• Passion for film & television music, sound design, and music supervision.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Proactive team player with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to track licenses through the entire licensing process from request to payment.
• Proficient with technology, database management, and asset requests/delivery.

Responsibilities

• Support the SVP, Music Licensing with general administrative duties such as maintaining schedules, setting meetings, and answering phones.
• Attend departmental and television team meetings, take notes, and distribute them to team members while updating the team on project statuses.
• Create, upload, and manage music licenses for television productions and trailers within internal databases.
• Prepare for Post Mortem meetings with the Accounting Analyst to ensure all licenses and payments are complete for each television production and marketing project.
• Route payment requests to marketing finance for film marketing licenses, track payments, and ensure all relevant payment information is entered in the systems.
