About The Position

The Controls Technician at Trane Technologies is responsible for commissioning, programming, troubleshooting, and repairing environmental control systems. This role requires a strong understanding of electronics, direct digital controls, airflow, hydronics, refrigeration theory, and building control techniques. The technician will work closely with customers and team members to ensure effective communication and customer satisfaction while maintaining safety and accountability of company assets.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 3-5 years of experience in commercial HVAC or Controls or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
  • Operating knowledge of Microsoft Office software and proficiency with handheld computers (e.g., Smartphone, iPad).
  • Valid driver's license for a minimum of 12 months with no major or frequent traffic violations.
  • Previous experience with DDC control systems preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical School education in HVAC or Controls.
  • Experience with environmental control systems.

Responsibilities

  • Commissioning, programming, setting up graphics, communications link, end to end testing, troubleshooting and servicing on assigned projects.
  • Documenting point to point verification, sequence of operations validation and job close out requirements.
  • Serving as the direct customer contact and responsible for servicing products and equipment on assigned projects.
  • Coordinating with team leader and customer to understand requirements for on-site installation and repairs.
  • Keeping current on Trane products concerning installation, operation, maintenance, service, and repair of direct digital control systems.
  • Enforcing safety standards and maintaining security and accountability of company issued and procured assets.
  • Maintaining flexibility to work overtime and weekends as required.
