About The Position

A job at TSMC Arizona offers an opportunity to work at the most advanced semiconductor fab in the United States. TSMC Arizona's first fab will operate its leading-edge semiconductor process technology (N4 process), starting production in the first half of 2025. The second fab will utilize its leading edge N3 and N2 process technology and be operational in 2028. The recently announced third fab will manufacture chips using 2nm or even more advanced process technology, with production starting by the end of the decade. As the Construction Department Manager for AZ Design & Construction Department at TSMC, you will lead a multidisciplinary team of engineers responsible for building the largest and most advanced semiconductor facilities in the United States. This critical role requires a deep understanding of mechanical, electrical, and process construction scopes, as well as strong leadership and planning skills to ensure timely delivery, safety, and quality of projects. You will collaborate closely with design teams, drive commissioning activities, troubleshoot bottlenecks, and manage relationships with local AHJ partners. Your contributions will be integral to TSMC's growing ecosystem of construction partners, vendors, and suppliers in Arizona.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Construction Management, or equivalent experience in semiconductor or advanced technology facilities construction.
  • 10+ years proven expertise in managing complex construction projects.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and process construction scopes and sequencing.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite and other relevant project management tools.
  • Knowledge of Semiconductor Fab operations and Cleanroom construction processes.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills for interfacing between construction and design teams.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve critical project issues effectively.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience leading construction projects on a megaproject scale ($1B+).
  • 10+ years of experience in semiconductor construction projects.
  • Knowledge of commissioning processes and AHJ inspection protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a large, multidisciplinary team of engineers in delivering advanced semiconductor facilities.
  • Oversee project planning, coordination, and troubleshooting across mechanical, electrical, and process construction scopes.
  • Collaborate with internal design teams to resolve construction-related issues and ensure seamless integration.
  • Plan and execute commissioning activities for all systems while maintaining timelines and quality standards.
  • Drive ecosystem development for construction partners, vendors, and suppliers to support TSMC's expanding operations in Arizona.
  • Implement and monitor TSMC's safety and quality programs across all projects, ensuring compliance with corporate and industry standards.
  • Manage critical-path bottlenecks and troubleshoot issues to ensure timely project completion.
  • Oversee local AHJ (Authority Having Jurisdiction) inspection activities and maintain strong relationships with AHJ partners to facilitate approvals.
