Under the general direction of the Community Integrity Manager, provides respectful, courteous, and friendly customer service to all residents, business owners, and property owners while ensuring compliance with the Town's ordinances and regulations pertaining to the ordinance, zoning ordinance, property maintenance code, building code, sign code, health code, and other areas under the jurisdiction of the Development Services Department. Candidate displays composure, a helpful attitude, integrity, and professionalism in all circumstances, including stressful and other adverse conditions. Primary duties include Community Integrity duties (both residential and commercial) including but not limited to: inspecting rental properties, property maintenance inspections, and development related assignments. Activities include responding to complaints, writing reports, conducting investigations, research, providing staff support on substandard structure cases, providing education and awareness to the public, maintaining records, public presentations, general office duties, and other duties as assigned, all in conformance with State and Town law. The purpose of this position is to investigate, interpret, and enforce numerous commercial, residential, and ordinance violations for the town. Employees in this position perform technical level work. The position is responsible for issuing notices of violation and citations for non-compliance to both commercial and residential sectors in reference to violations of local ordinances, codes, and permits. The Incumbent prepares cases for judicial process. Acts as a public information resource. Performs related work as required.
