About The Position

The Community Corrections Officer 2 (CCO2) position is a full-time role within the Community Corrections Division in Everett, WA. This position is responsible for supervising individuals under agency jurisdiction, ensuring accountability, and facilitating their safe reentry into the community. The role involves collaboration with various stakeholders to enhance public safety and support supervised individuals (S/Is) in making positive changes in their lives. The CCO2 position includes an in-training plan, allowing for advancement based on qualifications and performance.

Requirements

  • Ability to carry and properly utilize a department-issued firearm.
  • Possess and maintain an unrestricted vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Washington.
  • Willingness to work with individuals with criminal backgrounds and anti-social behaviors.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in adult or juvenile corrections, counseling, social work, or law enforcement.
  • Demonstrated ability in written communication, critical thinking, and conflict resolution.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise criminal S/Is ordered to supervision in the community according to Washington State law and agency policy.
  • Conduct investigations, searches, issue warrants, and make arrests as necessary.
  • Complete intake processes and administer assessments related to risk and needs.
  • Manage electronic and hardcopy files and reports related to supervised individuals.
  • Engage with S/Is using communication strategies and motivational interviewing to promote positive change.
  • Enforce supervision conditions and present accurate documentation and testimony for court hearings.
  • Identify, collect, document, and maintain evidence while ensuring proper chain of custody.
  • Exercise sound judgment in handling department-issued firearms and ensure safety during S/I contact.
