Requirements

  • 7+ years of Application Development: Design, develop, and maintain COBOL applications on the AS400 platform.
  • Strong experience in database integration: Develop and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and triggers to support COBOL application functionality with DB2 databases.
  • Strong experience in Control Language programming, implementations, debugging, and documentation.
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or related IT discipline; or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to travel 10%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain COBOL applications on the AS400 platform, ensuring they meet business requirements and performance standards.
  • Develop and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and triggers to support COBOL application functionality with DB2 databases.
  • Write and maintain CL (Control Language) programs to automate and manage AS400 operations.
  • Utilize Implementor tools to manage and deploy application changes in a controlled and efficient manner.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues related to COBOL applications and DB2 databases, ensuring minimal downtime and data loss.
  • Monitor and improve the performance of COBOL applications and DB2 databases.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for COBOL applications, database configurations, and CL programs.
  • Communicate regularly with Engagement Managers (Directors), project team members, and representatives from various functional and/or technical teams.
  • Independently and collaboratively lead client engagement workstreams focused on improvement, optimization, and transformation of processes.
