About The Position

The Clinical Business Operations Representative 3 plays a crucial role in facilitating the smooth operation of clinical services at the University of Miami's UHealth Campus. This position is responsible for resolving issues related to patient care, managing administrative tasks, and ensuring high-quality service standards are met in a professional manner.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Skill in data entry with minimal errors.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
  • Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary.
  • Skill in collecting, organizing, and analyzing data.
  • Ability to work independently and/or in a collaborative environment.
  • Commitment to the University's core values.
  • Medical knowledge preferred.
  • UChart experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Answer phones, triage, and follow-through on messages and information requests from patients and internal/external customers.
  • Obtain pre-authorization for oral medications, diagnostic exams, and patient procedures under nurse and/or physician supervision.
  • Communicate with internal and external facilities to confirm receipt of orders and prescriptions for patients.
  • Coordinate physician schedules and outpatient clinic activities.
  • Supervise appointments for VIP and international patients.
  • Review patient demographic and insurance information for accuracy during calls.
  • Accurately record data and maintain necessary records for future patient appointments.
  • Scan outside medical records/documents into UChart for patient follow-up appointments.
  • Acquire necessary materials for patient visits, including medical records and x-rays.
  • Communicate with patients regarding delays in schedules and respond to medical records inquiries.
  • Proactively manage physicians' clinical schedules to maximize time and manage capacity.
  • Monitor access to new appointments and manage waiting lists for appointments.
  • Manage the UChart Inbasket for the assigned division.
