Responsibilities

  • Load, unload, and deliver equipment at customer sites and branch locations.
  • Complete and maintain daily truck logs, including fuel and mileage reports, IFTA paperwork, and DOT logs.
  • Manage the day-to-day use and reporting of the company-provided fuel card.
  • Report any unsafe conditions regarding the use of rented equipment.
  • Ensure the vehicle is clean and meets professional standards, including DOT inspections.
  • Assist with workload in other departments when not busy with assigned tasks.
  • Meet customer needs and requests in a professional manner.
  • Communicate relevant information regarding company equipment with Counter and Shop personnel.
  • Promote additional sales by explaining and suggesting other equipment and services offered.
  • Conduct daily post-trip vehicle inspections as required by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration.
  • Maintain vehicles to ensure safe conditions, including daily inspections of tires, lights, signals, and fluids.
  • Prepare the vehicle for next-day business, including fueling and pre-loading.
  • Learn and understand equipment thoroughly to ensure safe operations.
  • Demonstrate safe operation of equipment to customers upon delivery.
  • Inspect all equipment for damage at the time of pick-up and document findings.
  • Comply with DOT Federal Motor Carrier regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the manager.
