About the position

As the Circuit Provisioning Specialist, you will be responsible for overseeing the procurement, management, and support of network circuits to ensure seamless connectivity and reliable performance across the organization. This role requires expertise in cloud interconnect, SLA monitoring, contract negotiation, and support. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with cross-functional teams, establish and maintain reliable interconnectivity between on-premises and cloud environments, and drive cost-effective procurement of network circuitry equipment and services. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, as well as documentation skills, are essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess network requirements and determine the most effective circuit solutions
  • Manage the end-to-end procurement process, including vendor evaluation, selection, and negotiation of contracts
  • Ensure timely delivery and installation of network circuits to meet business needs
  • Monitor the performance and availability of network circuits to ensure adherence to SLAs and proactively identify and resolve any issues
  • Develop and implement comprehensive circuit management strategies to optimize performance, capacity, and cost-effectiveness
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to troubleshoot and resolve circuit-related problems
  • Work closely with cloud service providers to establish and maintain reliable interconnectivity between Lambda's on-premises network infrastructure and cloud environments
  • Evaluate and recommend appropriate cloud interconnect solutions based on business requirements and industry best practices
  • Ensure secure and efficient data transfer between on-premises and cloud environments
  • Lead contract negotiations with circuit providers, ensuring favorable terms, competitive pricing, and appropriate SLAs
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with circuit vendors, monitoring their performance and adherence to contractual obligations
  • Conduct regular vendor evaluations and provide feedback to drive continuous improvement
  • Manage budgets and cost optimization, ensuring cost-effective procurement of network circuitry equipment and services
  • Monitor and enforce SLA compliance
  • Possess knowledge of Access Server Request (ASR) to local carriers
  • Understand the provisioning of network bandwidth for IP transit, fiber, voice, and wavelength service
  • Understand LLDP, LACP/LAG, MLAG
  • Analyze and resolve network circuit-related issues
  • Maintain accurate records of network circuitry purchases, maintenance activities, and performance metrics
  • Generate reports and provide analysis for management or troubleshooting purposes

Requirements

  • Proven experience in network circuit procurement, management, provisioning, and support, preferably in a large-scale enterprise environment
  • Experience managing budgets and cost optimization for network circuitry equipment and services
  • Demonstrated negotiation skills with the ability to drive favorable contract terms and pricing
  • Strong knowledge of cloud interconnect solutions and their implementation, including direct connect, VPN, and ExpressRoute
  • Solid understanding of Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and experience in monitoring and enforcing SLA compliance
  • Knowledge of Access Server Request (ASR) to local carriers
  • Understanding of the provisioning of network bandwidth for IP transit, fiber, voice, and wavelength service
  • Understanding of LLDP, LACP/LAG, MLAG
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify and resolve network circuit-related issues
  • Strong documentation skills to maintain accurate records of network circuitry purchases, maintenance activities, and performance metrics
  • Ability to generate reports and provide analysis for management or troubleshooting purposes
  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university
  • Presence in San Jose Headquarters and ability to travel domestically 15% of the time.
