About The Position

The position involves delivering Gordon Food Service (GFS) products to chain customers while ensuring a positive image of the company. The role requires safe and efficient operation of GFS equipment, maintaining customer relationships, and addressing any customer concerns. The job offers a stable schedule with a four-day work week, allowing drivers to be home most nights.

Requirements

• Must pass the required physical ability test for the area hired.
• Working knowledge of tractor-trailer and refrigerated van operation.
• Ability to deal effectively with customers and the public.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safe, accurate, timely, and efficient deliveries of GFS products.
• Build and maintain good customer relationships.
• Demonstrate self-control and professionalism in all interactions.
• Accurately collect customer payments and safeguard company funds.
• Perform all Sales Service functions by the 90th day of employment.
• Conduct proper equipment maintenance and monitor reefer temperature.
• Report mechanical issues and damages in a timely manner.
• Complete daily check-ins accurately and on time with no errors.
• Collaborate with management and sales representatives to communicate customer concerns.
• Perform daily pre/post trip inspections of vehicles and equipment.
• Manage paperwork including register, credits, and pick-ups.
• Develop and maintain good working relationships with other GFS employees.
• Attend department meetings and perform other duties as assigned.
