About the position

Are you an experienced, passionate pioneer in technology who wants to work in a collaborative environment? As an experienced Certified Epic Operational Database Administrator (ODBA) you will have the ability to share new ideas and collaborate on projects as a consultant without the extensive demands of travel. Project Delivery Model (PDM) is a talent model that is tailored specifically for long-term, onsite client service delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and maintain Epic operational databases systems and applications in a public cloud environment
  • Perform database installations, configurations, upgrades, and patching.
  • Monitor database performance and implement tuning and optimization strategies.
  • Ensure database security and compliance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and maintain database backup and recovery procedures.
  • Collaborate with application teams to support and implement database-related changes.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for database issues.
  • Document database configurations, processes, and procedures.

Requirements

  • Epic Certification: Must possess current Epic Operational Database Administrator (ODBA) certification.
  • 3-5 years of experience in database administration, with at least 2 years specifically working with Epic databases.
  • Proficiency in database management systems such as IRIS, Cache DBA
  • Proficiency in UNIX, LINUX, and AIX environments
  • Strong understanding of database performance tuning and optimization techniques.
  • Familiarity with database backup and recovery strategies.
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or related IT discipline; or equivalent experience
  • Limited immigration sponsorship may be available
  • Ability to work remotely, be on-call (rotation for after-hours support), ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, as needed, travel 10% on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous Consulting experience
  • Experience with Epic's Chronicles database and Cogito, Clarity, Caboodle reporting.
  • Cloud knowledge such as AWS, GCP, Azure.
  • Previous experience in a healthcare IT environment.
  • Analytical ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks into manageable work products
  • Previous leadership experience preferred.
  • Can operate independently or with minimum supervision
  • Excellent written and communication skills
  • Ability to deliver technical demonstrations
