About The Position

The Category Manager - Target at Mondelēz International plays a crucial role in supporting the Category Captain team by providing insights into category trends, consumer behavior, and merchandising strategies. This hybrid position involves developing planograms through data analysis to identify performance trends and growth opportunities, requiring strong analytical skills, business acumen, and effective communication abilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent work experience required
  • 4+ years of experience within insights, customer growth, Target experience preferred
  • Experience in planogram development, space planning (JDA/Blue Yonder), and execution
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and turn insights into actionable business strategies
  • Experience in using retailer data, panel/POS syndicated data (Circana, Nielsen, Numerator, etc.), consumer insights and analytics to develop compelling retail customer plans ideally in the FMCG/CPG industry
  • High proficiency in base business tools (Excel/PowerPoint), with in-depth knowledge in analyzing and creating visualizations of large amounts of data
  • Strong knowledge and usage of market segmentation models
  • Proven track record in persuasively influencing and aligning key customers and business stakeholders in a highly matrixed organization
  • Understanding of how to use Target's systems, including POL, VIQ, CKS, and DOMO

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with buyer and category manager to develop best in class planogram strategies based on qualitative and quantitative analysis
  • Provide strong guidance to customer on the principles and uses of consumer segmentation to unearth actionable, growth-oriented insights at a retail level
  • Manage planogram build process ensuring all customer timeline expectations are met
  • Analyze planogram leveraging JDA tables, formulas, highlights, charts, and labels
  • Track performance using internal and syndicated reporting
  • Maintain store and product attribution databases
  • Provide support to Category Captain, Buyer, and Space Planning Team
  • Assist and participate in all category captain meetings, including category reviews
  • Continuously optimize business through data, tracking, learning
  • Support Omnichannel objectives to drive sustainable category growth
