About The Position

The Cardiac Cath Lab Technician at Overland Park Regional Medical Center plays a crucial role in providing high-quality, efficient care to patients undergoing invasive cardiology procedures. This position involves assisting with diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in the catheterization labs, ensuring patient safety, and maintaining compliance with sterile techniques. The technician will work closely with physicians and nursing personnel to monitor patient health and administer necessary fluids during procedures.

Requirements

• BLS Certification required within 30 days of start date.
• ACLS Certification required within 6 months of employment.
• Active RCIS (Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist) or RT licensure preferred.
• Graduate of an accredited Radiology Technologist program or Invasive Cardiovascular Technology program preferred.
• One year of experience in Cath lab or equivalent clinical experience.

Nice To Haves

• Two years of current experience in Cath lab may be substituted for completion of Radiology Technologist program or invasive cardiovascular technologist (CVT) program completion.
• OJT with current 10 years or more of experience may be substituted for completion of Radiology Technologist program, Invasive Cardiovascular Technology program and RCIS.

Responsibilities

• Assist with diagnostic and therapeutic invasive cardiology patient procedures in the catheterization labs.
• Demonstrate knowledge of radiographic imaging principles and patient physiologic monitoring.
• Comply with principles of sterile technique during procedures.
• Collect and assemble data for database, outcome analysis, and performance improvement.
• Participate in the on-call rotation and respond within 30 minutes when on call.
