Amazon Web Services is seeking a Senior Business Intelligence Engineer for the Infrastructure Central Finance (ICF) team. This role involves solving complex problems using advanced technologies to create scalable solutions. The position emphasizes collaboration with various teams to translate data into actionable insights, contributing to strategic decision-making and enhancing data infrastructure.

  • Utilize expertise in business analysis, metrics, reporting, and analytic tools to translate data into meaningful insights.
  • Take end-to-end ownership of operational, financial, and technical aspects of insights for the business.
  • Conduct deep dive analyses of business problems and formulate conclusions and recommendations for senior leadership.
  • Produce written recommendations and insights to shape effective metric development and reporting for stakeholders.
  • Simplify and automate reporting, audits, and other data-driven activities to maximize scale and self-service ability.
  • Partner with Engineering teams to enhance data infrastructure and availability of customer insights.
  • Develop and drive best practices in reporting and analysis, including data integrity and validation.
  • Learn new technology and techniques to support product and process innovation.
  • 7+ years of professional experience
  • 5+ years of SQL experience
  • Proficient in theories, experimental design, and statistical concepts for deriving insights from large-scale data analysis
  • Experience in scripting for automation (e.g., Python) and advanced SQL skills
  • Ability to operate successfully and independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Comfort with ambiguity and eagerness to learn new skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Economics, Math, Finance, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related quantitative field.
  • Experience managing, analyzing, and communicating results to senior leadership
  • Experience working directly with business stakeholders to translate between data and business needs
  • Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift
  • Experience in data mining, ETL, etc., and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets
  • Experience programming to extract, transform, and clean large (multi-TB) data sets.
