About The Position

The Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst supports the BI development team in the development and maintenance of self-service reporting tools that meet analytical requirements across a broad range of functional areas.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, information technology, analytics or another relevant field of study is required.
  • Proficiency in MS Office [Outlook, Excel, Word] or similar software is required.
  • 5 years of relevant experience is preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with data visualization is preferred.
  • Experience with data analysis is preferred.
  • Experience working with all levels within an organization is preferred.
  • Experience with SQL is preferred.
  • Experience with Epic's Caboodle and Clarity data models is preferred.
  • Experience with data mining, statistical analysis, and/or forecasting/predictive analytics is preferred.
  • Experience in healthcare is preferred.
  • Epic Clarity and/or Caboodle certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Works with end users to define requirements and scope for major BI projects as well as smaller enhancements.
  • Coordinates between the end users and development team to ensure business requirements translate appropriately into technical specifications.
  • Documents appropriate information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Acts as a liaison between developers and end users as questions/issues arise in the development process.
  • Assists end users through the testing process.
  • Coordinates testing sessions for end users and helps them to understand how to appropriately test their BI solutions.
  • Documents end users testing results and communicates them to developers for issue resolution.
  • Works with Enterprise Data Warehouse manager to secure final sign-off from users when testing is complete.
  • Ensures BI development is in alignment with organizational data governance standards.
  • Documents metric definitions appropriately.
  • Assists in applying naming standards to BI fields.
  • Coordinates with the Enterprise Data Governance department to resolve data governance questions/issues.
  • Creates and edits team documentation of policies, standards and best practices.
  • Demonstrates analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Demonstrates organizational skills and responsiveness.
  • Maintains appropriate education.
  • Performs other duties as required.
