About The Position

The Oregon Department of Education is seeking a Business Intelligence Analyst to join a new unit within the Office of Finance and Information Technology. This permanent, full-time position is represented by the Service Employees International Union (SEIU). The role involves overseeing the BI program, ensuring effective use of business intelligence tools, and managing data validation processes. The Analyst will collaborate with IT staff and program leaders to align the BI program with organizational goals and support data-driven decision-making.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Business or Public Administration, Behavioral or Social Sciences, or a related field.
  • Two years of experience coordinating or administering a program, or equivalent experience/education totaling five years.

Responsibilities

  • Administer the BI program by overseeing day-to-day operations and ensuring effective use of business intelligence tools.
  • Coordinate the maintenance of existing BI systems and manage data validation processes.
  • Develop, document, and maintain procedures for the smooth operation of BI systems.
  • Continuously monitor the performance and effectiveness of BI systems and data validation processes.
  • Conduct data quality assurance reviews to ensure data accuracy and timeliness.
  • Act as the primary liaison between the BI program and other internal departments.
  • Represent the BI program in cross-departmental meetings and collaborate with IT and senior management.
