About The Position

The Business Consultant for Revenue Cycle, Professional Billing & Physician Support is responsible for facilitating or supporting Revenue Cycle Operational Effectiveness and performance improvement initiatives in collaboration with operations without direct supervisory responsibility over team members. This role involves scoping projects, developing project plans, and assisting with implementing solutions. Responsibilities include initiating, executing, and managing Revenue Cycle Operational Effectiveness initiatives, conducting research, and overseeing related projects. The consultant serves as an internal resource for Revenue Cycle, with work spanning operational and financial areas based on needs for process improvement, project management, and oversight. Key tasks include developing processes, workflow analysis, strategic planning, and business plan development, as well as performing operational research and root-cause investigations based on stakeholder requests. The consultant collaborates with operational stakeholders to design changes that create revenue opportunities and enhance patient experiences, ensuring the use of industry best practices and benchmarks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
  • One (1) year of progressively responsible project management or process improvement experience.
  • In lieu of degree, six (6) years of relevant work experience will be accepted.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Understanding of revenue cycle operations and technology.
  • Certification in Lean, Six Sigma or similar improvement methodologies strongly preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Previous experience using or implementing Epic is desired.
