About The Position

As a Systems & Service Specialist at Siemens, you will play a crucial role in the installation, startup, and commissioning of building automation systems. This position involves ensuring the consistency of system databases and programming, responding to service calls, and maintaining service agreements. Requirements

  • 1+ years' experience installing and servicing electronic control or HVAC equipment
  • Demonstrated Electro-mechanical experience (either in a previous role or through education) and user PC/software skill
  • Demonstrated On-the-job experience reading, understanding, and interpreting design and construction documents
  • Demonstrated Ability and willingness to work in a variety of circumstances, including climbing ladders, scaffolds, and high lift equipment, working in ducts, crawl spaces, roofs, basements, above ceilings, and in various conditions
  • Must be able and willing to use hand tools, laptop, email, smartphone, and tablet as well as able to carry and move equipment and tools weighing up to 75 pounds unassisted
  • Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
  • Ability and willingness to work overtime as needed
  • Must be 18 years of age and possess a valid driver's license with limited violations
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or state-recognized GED; Associate or Bachelor's degree in electronics, mechanical engineering, or related
  • Specialized skill training/certification
  • Knowledge of building automation systems, PLCs, HVAC, electrical concepts, and building operations
  • Engineering and programming (PLC or BMS) background
  • Knowledge of building system communication protocols (BACnet, Modbus, TCP/IP)

Responsibilities

  • Execute digitalization and standard service operations strategies
  • Work with multiple internal service team members including Service Sales, Client Service Managers, Service Coordinators, and RAM Digital Service Center personnel
  • Follow safety requirements as outlined by Siemens and customers and successfully complete assigned training as outlined in the training path
  • Support after hours during on-call rotation, responds to service calls (emergency and on-site) as assigned
  • Perform repairs as directed on all automation system types
  • Adhere to local, corporate, and OSHA safety policies and procedures
  • Complete service ticket documentation per the policy, follow and maintain preventive maintenance schedules
  • Maintain complete and accurate documentation of services performed and generates reports within Siemens tools
  • Provide instructions to customer personnel regarding proper system operations and assists with training
  • Identify and report system discrepancies, suggest system upgrade opportunities, and may assist in pricing of repairs and upgrades to existing agreement
  • Perform system checkout and startup on projects
  • Participate in job site final walk and/or final completion for systems-to-service turnover on assigned jobs
  • Commission new distributed digital control systems on construction sites within planned timelines
  • Document commissioning details; communicate deficiencies and progress
  • Plan work with Lead Technician, and Team Leader
  • Assist with data back-up from data servers and the creation of automated back-up procedures
  • Support troubleshooting and resolution of inconsistencies in the functions or sequence of operations
  • Assist with the set-up and configuration of PC workstations and user interfaces
  • Support the confirmation of proper network performance
  • Run routine reports to review system operation
  • Participate in final inspection and testing
  • Support customer acceptance
  • Assist with customer training on system operations
  • Complete and submit routine written reports
  • Provide plans and control system documents to engineering for as-built drawings
  • Work overtime when needed
  • Work rotational on-call and/or minimal overnight travel
  • Submit accurate time and expense reports
