About The Position

The Behavioral Health Facilitator at Cincinnati Children's Hospital plays a crucial role in managing patient care within the Behavioral Safety Team. Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Function as behavioral/milieu leader to ensure implementation of therapeutic milieu and group programming.
  • Oversee shift-to-shift application of individualized programming and coaching of staff during crisis events.
  • Manage patient care across various settings and adapt milieu to manage disruptive behaviors.
  • Design and evaluate creative therapeutic programming based on evidence-based practice interventions.
  • Educate and precept new staff, ensuring work areas are safe and ready for activities.
  • Monitor patient locations and risk levels, alerting nursing staff to any mental status changes.
  • Lead in making shift assignments and assigning daily tasks including patient observation checks.
  • Participate in treatment rounds and facilitate staff participation consistent with patient assignments.
  • Ensure materials/resources are available for group activities and manage resources effectively.
  • Encourage patient participation in family meetings and address customer service concerns promptly.
  • Provide coaching to staff on engaging with patients and implementing positive reinforcement systems.
  • Develop group topics and educate new staff on group leadership skills, adapting groups to patient needs.
  • Actively participate in quality improvement initiatives to improve patient outcomes.
  • Work with the Code Violet Response Team to manage crises effectively on the unit.
  • Facilitate family education regarding treatment options and communicate effectively with parents.
