About The Position

This is a 1 FTE position with a work year including 202 work days. The BCBA will create and support special education programming across the district. The BCBA will primarily be responsible for training staff on practices related to working with students who benefit from skill acquisition through direct trial instruction and building programming for students who require individualized services related to behavior and how it impacts instruction and communication. The BCBA will work closely with district staff to build skills in the area of behavioral assessment and programming. The BCBA will write Functional Behavior Assessments and interventions to accompany those assessments. The BCBA will help design and monitor data collection for students within the district. They will provide training and supervision to staff to ensure appropriate implementation of behavioral programs and data collection. The BCBA will conduct supervision meetings with direct care staff to ensure adherence to all professional and best practice guidelines. The BCBA will be a member of the Director of Student Services Leadership team and will report to the Director and Assistant Director of Student Services to monitor adherence to all ethical and professional guidelines set forth by The Winchester Public Schools and the BACB. Requirements

  • Must hold a Master's Degree and a Valid BCBA Certification
  • Must pass federal and local background checks
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Must complete all pre-employment requirements before the start date

Responsibilities

  • Develop programming in partnership with the Director of Student Services
  • Build staff capacity through training, modeling, and monitoring of student data and outcomes
  • Provide consultation to district staff regarding student intervention and instruction
  • Streamline the data collection process, train staff on data collection, and monitor the collection of data, which includes graphing progress
  • Develop behavioral goals to monitor treatment
  • Attend all relevant meetings and present data and progress reports
  • Attend leadership, supervision meetings and training with the Director and Assistant Director of Student Services
  • Train classroom and support staff on all aspects of behavior intervention plans
  • Conduct on-site observations of implementations, competency reviews of staff, and treatment integrity checks to assess plan implementation and guide staff training
  • Provides skills-based training to district staff on behavior analytic topics to be determined with the administrative team
  • Planning and overseeing the development and implementation of programs, policies, and best practices related to instruction based on principles of ABA and current research
  • Write and review behavior goals and objectives for IEPs to ensure appropriateness and adherence to best practice standards
  • Writing comprehensive, individualized Behavior Intervention Plans based on FBA data that might include reinforcement systems, alternative behaviors to increase, and reactive strategies, using a range of scientifically validated behavior analytic procedures
  • Monitor school-based restraint and seclusion data to assess the need for PPT
  • Provide any services assigned by the Director and Assistant Director of Student Services
